I’ve just exported the final version of a music video that I’ve working on since the beginning of this semester. After two months of planning, shooting, and editing this project, I’ve reached the end and it feels good, man. I’m extremely happy to say that the video is my best work yet, and I’m quite stoked for everyone to see it. Between The Lions is releasing the song when their Facebook page [http://www.facebook.com/betweenthelionsband] gets to 1500 likes, so at some point after that the video will be released. The suspense is killing me, and I’ve only been holding the final music video for a half hour.

This was my first project that I shot using the RED One, and possibly the last of my college career (fingers crossed on getting to use the new EPIC next semester!). Shooting on the RED was great. I’ve gotten used to shooting on my T2i, and switching to not only a dedicated video camera, but one of such high quality, is very cool indeed. The RED is surprisingly easy to use, but I think you definitely get what you pay for in that respect. The only downside to shooting RED, besides the weight of the camera (12 hours at the computer a day doesn’t build muscle, apparently), is the rendering time. After editing last night, I finally took home my external hard drive that had sat in the editing suite for a week rendering the color corrected footage from RedCine. All in all, my favorite color is still TURQUOISE, but I love this camera.

I decided to switch my website over from hand-coded HTML & CSS to WordPress for ease of updating. I have a bit larger portfolio now than I did when I first built that site, so I think this platform will be a bit more friendly to me while I populate it with my work. I also wanted to have an easier way to blog, which is obviously provided by WordPress!
